Virgin travellers, no sleep and five little stars.
Well it seems such a long time since I last blogged and so much has happened. I have at long last got my Internet connection this morning after waiting a month for it. Apparently I am only one of the 27,000 people who have left talk talk due to their appalling customer service!
Everything started to go wrong for us the day we went, with a fully loaded horsebox (stuff not horses), to our supposedly new home in Scorton. On arrival however, it was clear to us that things were not quite as they should be! A number of things had been changed within our contract, the house and the yard and there were certain issues that not even me with my understanding nature could live with!!! So instead of unloading the lorry we went home to reconsider our very limited options. We had three days to find somewhere to live and to take the horses to. So Peter did a lot of sighing and we searched the Internet and racked our brains for another option.
We found a house that we had previously seen but thought not possible as it did not have a school, but we were desperate at this point, so I called the estate agents and told them we needed the rent reducing and surprise surprise they did it!!!!!
We had to view the property at 3pm on Tuesday and managed to get all the paperwork and checks in order so that we could pick the keys up on Thursday morning! There was not a lot of sleep in our house that week I can tell you!!!
I spent all Thursday moving stuff and Peter had Friday off to help. Our first night was even more special as Shonagh stayed over too and Jack and Stan appreciated having someone to share their bed with!!
We had agreed with our lovely Nateby landlord that we would move the horses on the Sunday but when we arrived Saturday morning he was ripping out all the fences and the babies were in the field!!!! So we had no option then but to move them immediately.
Bearing in mind that neither Maisey or Kirkby have been in the lorry before, we made our plan. Millie went in first followed very quickly by Maisey, bless her, and we set off on our first journey. Maisey made me so proud, just like a little grown up. Next we took Tilly up and returned to sedate Kirkby before transporting him and Mez last. Peter had to come home and help load Kirkby and got a spectacular bit of rope burn for his trouble, but we got him in and set off. He was a little more wobbly than Maisey had been but on the whole was a little star.
They had a little run round when we turned them out and then settled down like true professionals!
We returned to the yard later that night to pick the last of the furniture up and I had the journey I have been waiting such a long time for....the last one from Nateby!!!!
