| Tilly Kelsall Hill BE90 2010 |
Midsomer Clover (Tilly) was competing at BE100 through the summer and British Dressage and BSJA through the winter. She is a 16hh, 9year old chestnut mare and I have owned her since she was 4. She is an Irish Sports Horse and her grandsire was Clover Hill. We had saddle fitting issues to begin with and it was only after finding Balance International saddles that I was able to start her schooling. She loves jumping but does not see the point of dressage which can get a little frustrating at times and I am in the process of finding a trainer to help us with this. Unfortunately Tilly has had problems since the SJ at Hutton in Sept 2010 and we are in the middle of a lameness workout. Joe thinks she has tweaked the suspensory ligaments in her front legs. We are now seven months down the line and she is still lame on both front legs. She has been rescanned by Guy and I am taking her upto the Vets this week for more xrays and nerve blocks. I am able to turn her out in a small paddock for an hour and then ride her round the block most days. It looks like it is going to be a long road to recovery for her. In October I took Tilly for another set of x-rays and her shoeing was adjusted accordingly. She is now sounder than she has ever been and we can up our work to start cantering and if all is well we can start to jump after Christmas. :)))
Well Christmas has been and gone and we started our canter work and all went well so now we have started jumping too. I have been to my friends school a few times to jump her and last Sunday we did the clear round at Myerscough.....tomorrow we are going to Somerford Park to do some small XC schooling. If she is sound after that then I am going to enter for the BE80T at Stafford on 30th March 2012.......I am soooo excited!! Tilly was sound and we had a fantastic day at Stafford. We had to pull out of Kelsall as she injured her leg the day before in the field and had a cut that went down to the bone! She is now recovered and getting fit again.

Mezza Luna (Mez) is a 15.2hh, 7 year old, dark bay mare who initially I bought to event but is not brave enough and likes to look at all the jumps first! I backed her as a 4 year old as she was such a baby and she has managed various injuries over the years to hamper her training as much as possible!! She moves well on the flat I have decided to concentrate on her dressage at the moment and we are currently competing at British Dressage Novice level. I still jump her but now it is just for fun and not competitively. This month I have taken the exciting step of entering her for an Elementary test. She was fab and we got 66.17%. We are now going to try and qualify for the Winter Regionals at Prelim level.

Midnight Circus (Maisey) is Millie’s daughter and is and she was born on 28th July 2008 at 12.15pm, she is by the advanced eventing stallion Upton's Deli Circus. She was our first foal and Peter (my Husband) and I delivered her. She is very bold and wants to explore everything and we plan to take her out in the horsebox this summer to let her see a little bit of the world!
I have recently started lunging her in her bridle and saddle and today she went in the horsebox for the first time. She has been loose jumping over about 3 foot. I have sat on her twice now in the stable and when the nights get lighter I will be taking her to my friends round the corner to back her and ride her....2012 has seen me riding Maisey up and down the drive and also being led around the field by Peter. I am hoping to get cracking with her now and see what she says!!!
Millvale Magic (Kirkby) was born on 21st April 2009, his sire is the advanced eventing stallion Mill Law and his dam was Mo who I have just sold. Last year when we were away the girls on the yard scared him a little and then could not get his headcollar on. One of the liveries had her vet at the yard so they asked for his help and he ear twitched him until he cried out. A year late I still cannot touch his ears properly. I was so cross and had I witnessed this the vet would have been reported and escorted off my yard. Kirkby turned from a loving foal into a nervous wreck after that and it is only now that his personality is beginning to come back through.
Kirkby is currently standing at around 16hh. He has been handled since birth and will lead and be hosed off. He has had his feet trimmed by the farrier, is fully vaccinacted and wormed to date. He can be a little nervous with strange people and really does not like the vet!!! He is having horsebox training ready for our imminent move. We have been loose jumping him in the school and he is showing a lot of scope. He will make about 16 - 16.2hh and is going to be an outstandingly talented horse. His impeccable breeding makes him a certain top class eventing prospect for the future.
Kirkby has has the saddle on twice this month and seems to be coping well......we are a bit restricted, as is everyone, through winter with no where to start the babies properly.

Kirkby and Maisey would like to be eventers when they grow up and Kirkby has told me he would like us to go round Badminton!!
